KRCG Presents
Weather Scouts
"Making Science Fun" Overview Weather Scouts is a fun , online learning
center for students within the mid-Missouri area. KRCG has
developed this program to excite kids about science and encourage
them to explore the world around them. Weather Scouts is a
teaching tool for parents and instructors that makes learning
science fun. KRCGs meteorologists, with input from
area teachers and administrators, have developed this interactive
educational weather resource for middle school students. The lessons present students with challenging
but fun experiments and problems. Students then use the information
on the site and other Internet resources to work them out.
Lesson topics include; weather vs. climate, water condensation,
lightning, seasons, weather maps, cloud classifications, and
more. As part of the program, meteorologist Zach Paul will visit area classrooms each week and talk with
students about weather science first hand. Highlights from
Zachs class visits will be featured in the morning news
each Friday. Students and teachers will also be able to email
Zach questions and comments throughout the year. If you are a teacher that would like to sign
your class up for a visit, just email Zach. Please include
your name, school, address, and a phone number. Visits will
be scheduled on a first come first serve basis so be sure
to sign up now. Zach's email: zpaul@krcg.com
